Bergsjön app

What is this?

This project was developed as part of a team of five, focusing on enhancing how people experience the Bergsjön area. The solution is a quiz based game designed for tram commuters, called Where are we going?.

The game rewards players with redeemable discounts that can be used at the local food market in Bergsjön. The goal was to encourage more people to visit the area, reduce social isolation, and foster social engagement both on the tram and within Bergsjön.

UI Design Highlights

How it was made

Ideation

  • Conducted research and fieldwork to understand the area
  • Created 26 initial sketches exploring different concepts
  • Selected a tram-based quiz game with reward incentives
  • Used storyboards and early UI sketches to refine the concept

Low-fidelity prototype

  • Developed a paper prototype with core UI elements
  • Conducted usability testing with target users
  • Identified areas of confusion and usability issues
  • Used insights to guide the high-fidelity prototype in Figma

High-fidelity and Final prototype

  • Created a high-fidelity prototype in Figma
  • Conducted a second round of user testing (qualitative and quantitative)
  • Simplified the UI based on feedback
  • Introduced features such as team mode to increase engagement

Live demo

The prototype/demo was presented at Kuggen Lindholmen, where a tram like environment was recreated with seating and a shared display.

Attendees interacted with the quiz game, and the concept was well received, with positive feedback on engagement and potential real world application.
